Privacy policy

Last updated: September 2026

Protecting your personal data matters to LakeLab. This privacy policy tells you which personal data is processed in connection with your visit to this website and your use of the services offered. Processing takes place in accordance with the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP, in German DSG).

1. Controller

Responsible for the processing of data within the meaning of Art. 5 lit. j FADP is:

LakeLab
Schlyffistrasse 8, 8806 Bäch SZ
Email: hallo@lakelab.space

The association is represented by its board (Vorstand).

2. Operation of the website and processing on our behalf

This website and the associated digital services run on the SaniDesk platform. The provider and technical operator of the platform is SaniGear GmbH, Allenwindenstrasse 10, 8832 Wollerau, Switzerland. SaniGear GmbH processes personal data solely on behalf of and on the instructions of LakeLab, as processor within the meaning of Art. 9 FADP. The details are set out in a data processing agreement.

3. Which data we process

3.1 When you visit the website

When the website is opened, information transmitted by your browser is processed automatically (in particular IP address, date and time of access, the pages requested and technical details of your browser and operating system). This data serves the technical operation, the security and the stability of the website.

3.2 When you contact us and use the services

If you contact us or use our services, we process the data you provide (for example name, contact details and the content of your request or order) in order to deal with your matter.

4. Purposes of the processing

  • Providing and operating the website and the digital services
  • Handling requests, orders, reservations and contracts
  • Ensuring the security and stability of our systems
  • Meeting statutory retention and cooperation obligations

5. Hosting and infrastructure

The website and the platform are operated with professional hosting providers in Switzerland or in the European area. They process the data referred to in section 3 on our behalf and ensure the technical operation and the security of the systems.

6. Cookies

This website uses only a small number of cookies:

  • sd_consent records the choice you made in the cookie notice, so that the notice does not reappear on every page. Storage period: twelve months.
  • sd_vid is a random, pseudonymous identifier. It allows repeat visits, and any orders, reservations or enquiries that follow from them, to be attributed to the same visit, without us knowing who you are. It is set unless you have objected to reach measurement. Storage period: twelve months.

You can object in the cookie notice, and you can delete the cookies that have been set in your browser at any time. If the stored choice is deleted with them, the notice will appear again on your next visit.

7. Reach measurement

To improve what we offer, we record the use of the website with a self-hosted, privacy-friendly analytics solution operated by SaniGear GmbH. The evaluation is first-party and nothing is passed on to advertising networks. No data is sold for advertising purposes or shared with third parties.

8. Third-party content

Some pages of this website embed content from third-party providers. When you open such a page, your browser loads data directly from those providers and passes on your IP address in doing so. That is outside our control; the privacy terms of the provider concerned apply.

  • Google Maps: pages showing how to find us or how to get in touch embed a map view from Google.
  • PlayCanvas: the interactive 3D views load their rendering software from an external content delivery network.

9. Retention

We keep personal data only for as long as this is necessary for the purposes named above or as long as statutory retention periods require (for example ten years for business records). Server log files of the website are deleted after a short time. After that, the data is deleted or anonymised.

10. Your rights

Within the scope of the applicable data protection law you have the right to information about, rectification of, erasure of and restriction of the processing of your personal data, as well as the right to have your data handed out to you. Please contact LakeLab (hallo@lakelab.space).

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC), Feldeggweg 1, 3003 Bern.

11. Data security

We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorised access, loss or misuse. All persons and processors involved in the processing are bound to confidentiality.

12. Changes

We may amend this privacy policy at any time. The version published on this website at the time applies.
